Bitchat is a Bluetooth mesh network that helps solve this problem. If the net goes down, people can still buy and sell crypto as usual, until the internet comes back up.

We need more apps similar to this. While it has been funded by Jack Dorsey, the former CEO of Twitter, it is open source on Github and in the public domain, and so far runs on Android, iOS, and macOS.

In the aftermath of the Pacific Palisades Fire, Governor Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill 549 into law. This legislation grants Los Angeles County the authority to purchase fire destroyed lots at minimal cost, a decision that directly contradicts Newsom’s previous statements to homeowners that government driven property conversions would not occur.

The bill takes away the power and authority of the affected communities and puts it into the hands of the people that made it possible for the fires to burn everything down.
